HOUSE 003 is a penthouse refurbishment in Valencia where the typology’s most restrictive condition becomes the project’s strategy. A long hall around the interior patio was initially shaped as a narrow, dark corridor from the entrance to the main part of the dwelling. The proposal breaks this scheme by introducing a series of opening points that articulate the entire floor plan.

That way, the unspecified spaces such as the desk area near the entrance, the play area, and the office, are presented as elements that link the more secluded rooms, creating an interesting sequence of lights and views. Despite the large surface area of the apartment and the extensive program, all the areas are connected and work as a large, open ensemble.
