HOUSE 008 is the rehabilitation of an apartment located on the first floor of a former row house in Valencia. The neighborhood, once an independent agricultural village, was absorbed by Valencia’s urban expansion in the 19th century, yet it still retains numerous traditional homes in its historic center.
Its load bearing wall typology immediately dictates the layout of the program’s spaces. The large living-dining room faces the main facade, with three symmetric openings that establish a pattern reflected in the parallel walls alongside it.
In the central area, a kitchen-office is proposed, leading to the bedroom and a toilet, connected to the master’s bedroom bathroom. The uniqueness of the space is enhanced by the sloping roof planes, which increase the sense of interior spaciousness.
